Following Apple’s announcement that it will recall a limited number of 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops, manufactured from September 2015 to February 2017, airlines have released advisories regarding the recall.

Both Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines have said that passengers will not be permitted to bring the affected laptop model either as a carry-on or in checked luggage until further notice.

Qantas has barred all 15-inch models from being checked in and says they must be carried in the cabin and switched off.

The recall was announced following Apple’s determination that the affected models’ batteries may overheat and pose a fire risk.
