This year is the Nelson Mandela Centenary—it would have been his hundredth birthday. It is a tradition to spend 67 minutes (which reflects Mandela’s 67 years of service to South Africa) trying to make the world a better place.  To participate in this great initiative, XL Millennium started by getting involved in Mandela Fridays, where we wore our Nelson Mandela tees on the last Friday of every month. And we wore them proudly, as Madiba would have wanted us to.

For our 67 charitable minutes, we wanted to make a difference in our community. We found Elim Night Shelter, which is situated in Elsies River. We were touched by the way Shafiek and his team ran the shelter. We loved their mission and vision and felt that we could assist each and every client living at the shelter, by making them their very own personalized toiletry bag.

The entire Cape Town office helped to shop, collect and pack nearly 100 personalised bags, containing deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, etc. All of which were recieved with smiles, tears and gratitude.
