On 24 May, we participated in the ‘Cell C Take a Girl Child to Work Day’ initiative. XL Millennium have proudly been a part of this project for a few years now, as we believe in the importance of inspiring and empowering young women.

This year, we invited 6 scholars from our local high school, JG Meiring, to experience the workplace environment. We shared our team’s knowledge, processes of various tasks, and let the young ladies see firsthand, how the day to day running of the company is handled. We also exposed them to a women-run workplace, which for us, is very important, especially as it’s directly aligned with Cell C’s main focus, which is preparing the young women of today, to be the future leaders of our country.

“As a company run by women, this initiative really resonates with us” says Leanne Nel, General Manager, XL Millennium.  “There are so many career paths that women can pursue, and we feel it is important to expose girls to these. One of our core principals is to empower women to reach their full potential in the workplace, which is why we enjoy participating in this programme so much.”
